Friends here have heard of the death of John Mangrum, son of  MV Mangrum, superintendent of the Waveland School in 1900-01. He  was an engineer by profession and had been in Atlanta for some  time but had been transferred to Nashville, where he became ill  with appendicitis. He was making a good recovery from the  operation but death resulted from a blood clot. He was 31 years  old and was to have been married in June. MV Mangrum is principal  of the grade schools in Evansville. Mrs. Mangrum was also a  former teacher, Miss Grace Harris. - transcribed by kbz
